High schools 2009

In 2009, Grade 10 learners from Simonstown High, Ocean View High, Masiphumelele High, Fish Hoek High and Muizenberg High were invited to attend a Reconciliation Labyrinths workshop at the St George’s Cathedral in Cape Town on Sat 10th October together. After this bonding exercise, 12 learners decided they wanted to work together on making costumes for carnival.

They met weekly through October and November under the guidance of community coordinator Khanyiselo Silo, and enjoyed their interaction immensely. This pilot was a great success and we look forward to expanding our high school involvement in 2010.
