In 2006, the theme was 'Dare to Dream' and more than 1000 people took part. Carnival float-building fundi, Justin Stuart of Scarborough, joined the eMzantsi team and worked with a crew of young volunteers to create three floats: the giant Masiphumelele Red Ribbon, the Noordhoek Farm Village scarecrow holiday tractor and Fish Hoek's Papillon Insurance Butterfly. Carnival assemblies were presented in fifteen valley schools and the Carnival Kings and Queens surpassed themselves with their creative outfits.
n 2006, there was an irresistable Belly-rimba collaboration between the Buyambo Marimba band of Masiphumelele and the Hip Circle Belly Dance School of Muizenberg, which had everyone grooving. There was also
an Ocean View High and Masiphumelele High drama collaboration facilitated by Jungle Theatre, Muizenberg, focussing on HIV awareness on World AIDS Day
In addition, there was a Reconciliation Labyrinth of flowers that was created by Grade 6 learners from Kleinberg and Marine Primary Schools from Ocean View under the guidance of Clare Wilson.
